What Is Invisalign?

If you’re not happy with the way your teeth look and need a long-term solution to fixing it, then dental implants in Bromley are a great option for you. These implants look and feel just like your natural teeth and have helped to increase our patient’s confidence.

What are the benefits of dental implants?

When you have dental implants, there are many advantages that come with them. One of the main benefits that our patients enjoy is the appearance of the implants, as they blend in very well with your natural teeth. The colour of the crown that is used can be changed to match as closely as possible to your other teeth.

Another main benefit that comes with dental implants is that they prevent bone loss, this is important to be able to maintain a strong structure for your implant and other teeth. If you have missing teeth, then this depletes the bone in that area, which can also spread throughout the jawbone over time. This is the only tooth replacement treatment that brings this preventive benefit.

Our patients love how easy their artificial teeth are to maintain, as all you need to do is the usual oral hygiene routine of brushing and flossing. This is great for our patients who don’t want to have to worry about adding specific things to their routine such as cleansing tablets.

Even though the implants look, feel and are maintained like normal teeth, they actually have the advantage of not being able to get cavities. Bacteria can still build up on the crown, but you won’t have to worry about getting cavities on them and having to get it replaced or filled.

When you have missing teeth, this adds pressure to your other ones. This can cause damage to the surrounding areas and weaken the teeth that may have been stable before. This is why it is beneficial to get an implant in that gap to make sure that your other teeth are also supported.

What’s the process?

During your initial consultation meeting, we will have a look at the problem areas and take an X-ray to get a better idea of how much bone is left. Taking the X-ray also means we can send it off to the dental laboratory for them to create your custom crown that is added in the final stage. If there is enough bone to be able to implant the first post, then you will be accepted for the treatment.

To begin, your dentist will surgically place a screw into the jawbone, and this is left to heal and fuse with the bone for a certain amount of time. Your custom crown will be added either immediately after the screw or at a later date. It is important to make sure the screw is fused well to the bone before adding the crown. If it is too weak and the crown is added, then it could get damaged when the patient leaves and cause further problems.

Once the treatment is complete, you will not know the difference between your implant and your natural teeth! You can carry on living with a better-looking smile!
